![]() Both the 5000D and 220T get plenty of air to the CPU. First of all, ditch the watercooling unless you just really want that look. If you'll allow me, I think you're doing overkill on some components. Imagine what you'd be happy to see sitting on your desk everyday. If you like the look of the 220t better than the 5000, go for the 220t. Of course, aesthetics are a huge part of picking your case. You can always fit smaller components into a bigger case, but not the other way around. If at any point you decide you want to venture into custom water cooling or get a thicc boi card, you can easily repurpose the 5000 for your needs, whereas you may have to buy another case if you had the 220t. They're both sheet metal, and it's not like you're going to be dropping your case or taking a hammer to the side panel daily.Īnother thing to consider is also the potential for upgrade paths that a bigger case allows. These all make it easier but it's not impossible to achieve a similar level of excellence from the 220t, you may just have to spend 20-30 min extra figuring out a configuration because it isn't as laid out for you in the 220t as it is in the 5000.ĭurability is a dumb argument. If not, you can get by with the more compact nature of the 220t.Ĭable management is easier for the 5000 mainly due to 3 things: the afformentioned larger case dimensions allowing more space to stuff cables, the cable tunnel in the back chamber giving more options to rout cables, and the addition of a door that goes between the back panel and the back chamber which straight up covers loose cables, giving you the flexibility to be a bit messier with your cables since it's all covered anyway. The 5000 is indeed larger than the 220t, but do you actually need the extra space that it offers? Are you going with big, beefy components that actually demand a larger space to work with (larger gpus, custom water loops, >=360 rads)? 5000 offers that space. I own the 5000d (everything the same as 5000x except for different side panels) and it's a wonderful case that I don't think anyone would regret owning.īut you also have to think about what you need from your case. Ideally I'd like to run games like Destiny 2, Assassin's Creed and The Division 2 on max graphics settings If you have any recommendations on alternatives to the GPU I have picked out, please let me know as I reckon I'll be waiting to complete my build for quite a while with the current lack of stock.
